In my ignorance, just the other day I’ve done a bit of research on how Watson works, after it had won the Jeopardy contest in 2011. It’s fascinating to understand what a fine-tuned algorithm, connected to a vast amount of information/data/content, powered by a huge amount of processing power, can achieve.
Watson occupies a small room, but then again that was the same for the first computer more than 60 years ago, the power of each is nothing compared to any mobile phone we carry in our pockets today. This means that we all should be able to have a “Watson” in our pocket in our lifetime.
I recommend watching the video below and let your mind run wild and think of all the ways in which this technology can be used in the future, or it is used already.
Before you react, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.
